Homer was born in 1889 in Texas. He was registered for the draft in the First World War, but no records have been found of if he served or not. By 1900 he was living in Greer County, OK. He owned one or more cotton gins in Mangum, OK prior to and during the Dust Bowl. He married Mary Stafford in 1919, and they had only one daughter.
He passed away in 1949 in Waco (not Ranger as claimed on Findagrave), having moved back to Texas at some point. He is buried in Evergreen Cemetery in Ranger, which explains the confusion.
