Services Are Set

Funeral services for Elmer T. Hendersonf retired farmer of Hopewell community, have been set for 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon in the Flinn and Maguire funeral home.
The Rev. Jack Masters pastor of the Hopewell Presbyterian church, is to be in charge of the services and burial will take place in the Hopewell cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home Monday evening from 7 to 9 o'clock and on Tuesday until time for the services. They are invited to attend the rites.
In failing health for the last three years, Mr. Henderson was admitted at the Johnson County Memorial Hospital last week and death came at 12:40 o'clock Sunday morning.

Native of Hopewell

Mr. Henderson was born on the old Henderson homestead in the Hopewell community Aug. 12, 1875, and was the son of James L. and Margaret VanArsdol Henderson: He received his education in tho No. 11 school near his home.

His first marriage was to Margaret Bartley in 1897, and one son was born to them. Following her death, Mr. Henderson was then married to Vasalonia Ragsdale and they were the parents of two children. They quietly observed their golden wedding anniversary last August.

Mr. Henderson united with the Hopewell Presbyterian church in his early youth and had served as deacon, trustee and elder. A loyal member of his church, he hnd taken an active part in its work as long as his health permitted.

The widow survives, with two sons and a daughter, and they are Morris Henderson, Mrs. Paul Mathena, of Hopewell; Wilbur Henderson, of Franklin; a step-son, Forrest V. Ragsdale, of Franklin; and a step-daughter, Mrs. Loren A. Webb, of the Second Mt. Pleasant community.

Others remaining are 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and n sister, Mrs. John B. LeMasters, of Hopewell.
