Mary was born on 21 November, 1762[1]. She was the "eldest daughter and co-heir of James Windsor Heneage, Esq., of Cadeby, in the county of Lincoln, and Gatcombe, Isle of Wight, married, on 20th June, 1791, William Fitzherbert, Esq., (2nd son of Bazil Fitzherbert, Esq., of Swinnerton Park in the county of Stafford), born 26th October, 1758, who took, upon inheriting, the additional surname and arms of Brockholes."[2]. William assumed the surname of Brockholes, by Royal Sign Manual dated 5 June 1783, and was Esq of Claughton [see ref 1]. William and Mary had 6 sons and 4 daughters.
