Anaconda Standard, 23 Jun 1901

In Montana's Social Circle In Bozeman Bozeman, June 22 -- One of the prettiest June weddings in Bozeman was that of Miss Oleta Hensley and William Maxey, which took place at the home of the bride's mother, 531 West Mendenhall street, last Wednesday evening. The ceremony was performed by Rev. G. C. Rector of the Methodist church south, and Rev S. B. Tabor, presiding elder, in the presence of Mrs. Hensley, T. H. and E. E. Hensley, Rosamond Hensley, Mr. and Mrs. M. M. Brooks, Misses Sue and Ruth Brooks, Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Kirk, Mr and Mrs Daniel Maxey, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Luce, Mr. and Mrs. Kyle, Mrs. W. F. Maughn, Professor and Mrs. McCormick, Misses Eva and Edith Maxey, Moses and Barnette, Mrs Moses, and George and David Maxey. The bridal party entered the room through an arch of lilacs and smilax and stood under a wedding bell of lilacs and smilax during the impressive ceremony. Wreaths of the same flowers radiated from the bell to the four corners of the room. Miss Mae Maxey and John Maxey, brother and sister of the groom, acted as bridesmaid and groomsman, and little Miss Frances Kyle carried the tray on which the wedding ring was placed. The bride wore a beautiful gown of white embroidered mousseline de sole trimmed in lace and carried a bouquet of white roses. A reception was held in the Maxey hall after the ceremony. The hall was prettily decorated with wild flowers in honor of the occasion and about 200 friends of the happy couple extended their congratulations and best wishes during the evening. The bride and groom left Thursday morning for Chico Springs, where the will spend their honeymoon, and then make their home at the Maxey ranch on Trail creek for the summer. They will take an extewnded eastern trip in the fall. The wedding presents were many and valuable, a large number being received from out-of-town friends. Mrs. Maxey is the eldest daughter of mrs. Hensley of this city, and likde the groom, is a native Montanan. The groom is the second son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Maxey, two of Montana's pioneers, and has a large circle of warm friends in Bozeman.
