Elmer Herron Succumbs to Effects of Runaway Occurring When He was Lad of 13

Injuries he sustained in a runaway accident 18 years ago, when he was a lad of 13 years of age, caused the death of Elmer Herron, aged 31 years, a well known resident of King Settlement, Wilson township Thursday evening. Mr. Herron had been crippled since the accident but he was able to attend to his duties on the farm. About a month ago he was taken seriously ill.

Mr. Herron was born on the farm on which he died and he spent his entire life in Wilson township, where he was popular among a wide circle of friends.

He is survived by his widow and three small children; his mother, Mrs. Catherine Clark, who resides with him; four sisters, Mrs. William King, Mrs. Henry Cochrane, and Mrs. George Shenk of Wilson Township and Mrs. James Willetts of Flint. There are also four brothers, George of Spratt and Frank, Charles, and Fred Herron of Wilson township.

The funeral will be held from the Wilson M.E. church, Sunday afternoon, Rev. H.K. McMichaels officiating, assisted by Rev. Pothery, pastor of the Free Methodist church. Mr. Herron had many friends in Alpena.
