At the time of Leslie's birth, in his mother Eliza Ann Price was not married, so his birth certificate issued in 1891 identifies him as "Leslie Price".

Eliza married Siegmund Solomon Heymann in 1892.

In 1904, a Birth Certificate was issued identifying him as "Leslie Heymann", son of Siegmund and Eliza.

At the time of his marriage, in 1922, Leslie was known as Leslie Heyman (without the second n).

Leslie's mother, Eliza Ann Price, later known as Eliza Ann Heyman (or Heymann), died prematurely, at the age of 38.

When Siegmund Heymann died in 1943, the death notice clearly identified Leslie as one of his children. The death notice also revealed that Siegmund had not remarried after the death of Eliza 39 years earlier. It also revealed that Leslie had two brothers (Frederick and Bernard) and a sister (Esther). From other sources it is known that Esther moved to the USA, where she married Raymond Hail in 1923. Another sibling, James, died in 1895.

HEYMAN - August 31, 1943, at a private hospital, Seigmund, relict of the late EIiza Heyman, loved father of Leslie, Frederick, Ester and Bernard, aged 79 years. Privately cremated at Rookwood, 1st Instant.^[9]
