Biography

Thomas Harold Hickey was born on 12 October 1923 in Corbin, Kentucky, the son of Howard Hickey and Evelyn Sharp.

Thomas Harold Hickey, age 91, of Linton, passed away at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, April 13, 2015 at Medco Health & Rehab in French Lick. He was born Oct. 12, 1923, in Corbin, Kentucky, the son of Thomas Howard and Evelyn (Sharp) Hickey. Thomas worked at Firestone in Wyandotte, Michigan as a shipper. He attended the Linton First Baptist Church and was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was an Army veteran of WWII and was wounded 3 times while serving, once during the Battle of the Bulge. He received a Purple Heart Medal and 2 clusters. He liked to fish.

Survivors include his wife, Doris (Stiles) Hickey, to whom he was married Sept. 2, 1950, and a sister, Irene Vickers of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Aileen Campbell.

Thomas died on 13 April 2015 in French Lick, Orange, Indiana. He was buried at Fairview Cemetery in Linton, Indiana.
