William Hickey was born in July 1847 in Licking Co., Ohio. He is the son of Henry Hickey and Mary Wilkin.

Mr Hickey developed a strong constitution while working on his father's farm. He studied in Vermillion Institute, Hayesville, O; graduated from the Medical Dept. Of Western Univ. Cleveland, O., and began the practice of medicine Apr. 15, 1870, at Leipsic, Ohio. He is a widely known and highly esteemed citizen and physician. Church of Christ. Children b. at Leipsic.
