Buried 12 Apr 1821. P/Ch, Tring, Herts, England.
Burial register records that he was aged 82.
Thought probably to have been the son of John Hicks and Collibury Durley of Bierton, Bucks, born 1746. This is because there is mention in the Tring burial register of an older Thomas Hicks having been brought from Bierton to be buried in the 1780's. This apparent link, suggests that this Thomas came from there.
His oldest son John, (born Tring in 1776), seems to have been buried at Aylesbury in 1837 aged 62. A John HICKS md Mary TURNER at Stone, Bucks., on 15 June 1802. A Collaberry HICKS was buried at Stone (aged 26) on 22 Dec 1830. If she proves to have been the daughter of this John, then it confirms the suspected descent from Colibury DURLEY who had married Thomas HICKS, and whose son Thomas, chr 27 Jul 1746 at Bierton, Bucks., is thought to be this John's father.
NB: John & Mary HICKS had the following children christened at Stone according to the IGI:
John 2 Jan 1803 Martha 7 Jul 1811 Emmanuel 5 Feb 1815 George 12 Jul 1818
