Jeremiah was Mashpee Wampanoag.

Jeremiah Hicks was born in 1807. He is the son of Abner and Sally Hicks.

• In 1840, Jeremiah Hicks is listed as a free colored person, age 24-36yo. Living at Mashpee, Barnstable, Massachusetts. He would have been 33yo.^[1]
• In 1849, Jeremiah Hicks, 41yo. and his family are recorded on the Briggs Report as members of the Mashpee, Wampanoag Tribe.^[2]

Birth:

• 21 Dec 1807: Jeremiah was born at Mashpee, Barnstable, Massachusetts. Jeremiah was 27yo when his birth was recorded in 1834.^[3]

Marriage:

• Before 1834: Jeremiah married Ophelia Hensen. Ophelia was 18yo in 1834. She is the daughter of Anthony and Sarah Hensen. Please see source for Jeremiah's birth.

Death:

• 13 Nov 1858: Jeremiah was almost 51yo when he passed away at the hospital in Taunton, Massachusetts.^[4]
