Biography

Janette (Hilder) Raglus was born in Victoria, Australia

Jeanette Emma Hilder (married name Raglus) was born about 1901, her birth registered that year in Tatura, Victoria. ^[1] She was the daughter of Harry Ismay Vine Hilder and Caroline Schwencke. Her parents had married in Victoria in 1893. ^[2]

Marriage. In 1929, she married Henry Raglus, in Victoria. ^[3][4][5]

Death. Jeannette Emma Raglus died in 1940, aged 39. Her death was registered Rushworth, Victoria, but she may have died at her home in Wanalta. ^[6]

OBITUARY

After a long illness extending over more than 12 months, the death occurred recently of Mrs. Janette Emma Raglus, wife of Mr. H. Raglus, of 'Worthing,” Wanalta, and leaves a distinct gap in the community.

The late Mrs. Raglus, who was 39 years of age, at the time of her death was the second daughter of the late Mr. H. Hilder and Mrs. G. Hilder, of Moora road, Rushworth, and was born at Tatura in 1901. She came, with her parents to a farm near Rushworth in 1919 and during her 21 years residence in the district, had accumulated a host of friends by her kindly and obliging nature and her never failing readiness to be of assistance to those in trouble. ^[7]

Burial. Interred in the Rushworth Cemetery (Methodist Section 5, Grave 214). Henry joined her there in 1965. His inscription is on the headstone, while Janette is memorialized on the grave top. They read; ^[8]
