Horace W. Hildreth was born on 28 March 1837 at Gardiner, Kennebec, MAine, the son of Daniel and Elmira Hildreth.[1]
On 21 Sept 1861, Horace W. Hildreth enlisted for a period of 3 years in Company C, 1 Maine Cavalry, during the American Civil War. His occupation was mason. He was mustered into service on 20 Oct 1861 at Augusta, Maine. He served as a corporal and sergeant and was discharged for disability on 20 March 1863. [2]
Anna [Merrill, int.] Wakefield and Horace W. Hildreth were married at Gardiner on 30 June 1864.[3]
Horace W. Hildreth died on February 2, 1903, at Gardiner and is buried at the Oak Grove Cemetery, Gardiner, Kennebec, Maine, USA.[4] His father was Daniel Hildreth (1801 - 1873), and his mother was Elmira Smith Hildreth (1801 - 1859). You can see a picture of his gravestone at Find A Grave.
