Note: The following names are assumed to be different variations of the same name. Some may have been misspelled when translated or misinterpreted when reading the original documents, and some may have changed over time:
Moksel
(Found in Viola Gouvion's oral history. [5] She said one of the children born to Gerhard Hilger and Margareta Bell was "Anna Gertrude Hilger Moksel")
Mofsel
(From the Thomas Pick translations of original Catholic Church documents. [6] On Nov 24 1822, Anton Mofsel married Gertrude Hilger.)
Moseler
(Also from the Thomas Pick translations. [7] From 1823 onward, the name is spelled as Moseler, for both the parents and their children.)
Müsseler
(From the family tree of Steven Michael Schwind on theMyHeritage.com website. [8] The Schwind family tree has his name as Müsseler. The German umlaut gives the word a very similar sound to the modern spelling Moseler. The Schwind family tree has his children's names as Mossel)
