Biography
Francis was born in 1895. He was the son of Arthur Hill and Katherine Hare. [1]
He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the 2nd Dragoons, Scots Greys. He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.
Francis was Aide-de-Camp to the Governor-General of South Africa between 1921 and 1924.
He married Ishabel Wilhelmina Sheila MacDougall (daughter of Lt.-Col. Stewart MacDougall) on 15 October 1927. They had 3 children.
He passed away in 1953.
