Mary was the daughter of James Hill (abt.1545-bef.1621). It is unknown when Mary or her siblings was born. According to the website for the church of St. Michael the Archangel of Lyme Regis "The church registers date back to 1538, though there is a gap from 1572 to 1653."[1]
Her brother William m Sarah Jourdain 1619 in nearby Exeter, Devon, England, putting his birthdate as by 1594. So James' children would have been born from 1575-1594, falling into the St. Michael's gap listed above. Mary is the last of the daughters to be named in the will implying she was the youngest daughter, probably putting her birthdate c1580-1592.
She is named in the will of James Hill of Lyme Regis dated 10 May 1620, proved 5 May 1621, receiving £200.
She married _ Godwyn after 1620 as she is named Mary Hill in her father's will. (See James' WikiTree profile for will details.)
Mary Godwyn died between 31 Mar and 6 Jun 1665 Lyme Regis, Dorset, England as that is where her will was proved and she requests to be buried in the church of Lyme Regis.
Mary Hill Godwyn's will was written 31 Mar 1665 and proved 6 Jun 1665 in Lyme Regis, Dorset, England. She leaves £150 to "To my three cousins William, James, Ynatius, the sons of my brother William Hill, in New England". [2]
If they were her brother's children, they were rightly nephews. And no mention is made of her nieces Sarah Hill Loomis or Elizabeth Hill Wilson. She also names dozens of other "cousins" who may also be nieces, nephews or other types of relations.
