She was baptised on 23 January 1848 in Croft with Southworth. [2]
In 1861 Ellen was living with her parents in Culcheth, Lancashire. She was a silk winder; her parents were silk weavers. [3]
On 29 August 1878, at Christ Church's church, Croft,
Ellen married Joseph Gibbins, a farmer, widower of Culcheth. Witnesses were Thomas Wood, (X) and Henry Gleave. [4]
The couple had a son, John Thomas Gibbins on 25 December 1878.
Ellen died in 1879 aged 31. Her death was registered in Leigh, Lancashire. [5]
