Dorothy was born in 1918 and passed away in 2005.
Born in Nashville, Tenn., she was a daughter of the late Dr. Harvill Hite and Winifred Schuler Hite. Mrs. Davis was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and attended Peabody Demonstration School in Nashville and art classes. She was an avid artist and completed many works in oil and china.
Surviving are two sons, Vernon H. Davis Sr. and wife, Linda S. Chandler, of Chapin and Hollis S. Davis and wife, Betty Davis, of Sumter; one sister, Belle Francis Sherer of Clinton, Miss.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Dr. Harvill Hite Jr.
