Biography

The daughter of Henry Hoffman (1968-1914) and Bessie Elizabeth Faulkner (1877-1951), Irene Hoffman was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan^{[citation needed]} in 1910, residing with her family in 1920 in Mount Pleasant, Michigan.^[1] Her parents divorced and her mother remarried, marrying Joseph E. Morris (1888-). Irene's siblings included:

1. Grace Luella Hoffman (1900-1997)
2. Infant Boy Hoffman (1908-1908)
3. Alfred Joseph Morris (1918-1992)

Irene married Ernest Myers, marrying at the First Presbyterian Church in Ann Arbor, Michigan on June 22, 1929,^[2] and having five children together:

1. Gwendolyn May Myers (1930-2000)
2. Delores Jean Myers (1932-1992)
3. Daniel Eugene Myers (1933-2007)
4. Dorothy Lucille Myers (1934-2017)
5. Ernest Myers (1942-)

At the time of the marriage, Irene, at the age of 18, lived in Marshall Township, Michigan and worked in a factory and Ernest, at the age of 26, lived in Ypsilanti, Michigan and worked for Ford Motor Company. Irene and her family made their home in Ypsilanti, Michigan, where her husband continued in factory work.^[3][4][5]

Widowed in 1984, Irene Myers continued to live in Ypsilanti,^[6] passing away in Superior Township, Michigan^{[citation needed]} at the age of 95.^[7][8][9] She is buried at Highland Cemetery in Ypsilanti, Michigan.^[10]
