In 'Darwen and its people' by J.G. Shaw (1889) p.27: "Briggs Holden, son of Titus, married Peggy Kirkham of Pickup Bank. His children were - Thomas, Titus, Benjamin, Kate (wife of William Thompson), Ellen (only lately married), and another one, I think, who died." Spouse not identified, as there are a large number of marriage records for Ellen Holden in Blackburn in the 1880s, and none state Briggs Holden as father.
