She married Lawrence Williams, the son of James Wilder Williams and Nancy Paralee Hollis, marrying in Wayne County,Tennessee on September 25, 1927[4] and making their home in Wayne County's Civil District 8 where, in 1930, her husband worked on a stock farm.[5] In 1940, they lived in Collinwood, Tennessee, where Lawrence drove a lumber truck.[6]
Virgie and Lawrence separated before 1950;[citation needed] that year, Virgie lived with her children in Wayne County, where she provided for her family by doing housekeeping.[7] Virgie and Lawrence later divorced, and Lawrence moved to Kansas City, Missouri, remarrying.
Virgie Williams passed away at the age of 77,[8] residing last in Collinwood, Tennessee, and is buried at Bethlehem Cemetery in Wayne County, Tennessee.[9] Her husband, having served during World War II, is buried at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.
