Biography

Augusta was born in 1857 in Mecklenburg, Germany. Father's Name was Johann Voss and Mother's Name Maria (Mary) Holtz.

Step-father Henry Lange brought mother Mary Holtz and Augusta back with him from Germany onboard the Halcyon arriving in New Zealand in 1869.

Augusta married Henry Sigglekow in 1875. After husband Henry passed away in 1895 Augusta was in a relationship with Joseph Rogers Clark.

Joseph committed suicide in January 1905. In her testimony at her husband's inquest Augusta claimed that they had been married seven years (c. 1898). Note: their marriage record is yet to be found.
