William Henry Hoof was born in Dawley in 1866. He was the son of Uriah Hoof and Sarah Wallett ^[1]

He married Rosannah Holmes in Malins Lee on 10 December 1904, their fathers were recorded as Uriah Hoof and Ezra Holmes ^[5]
