James (37) married Ursula Mary Addington (24) (born in 1884 in New Zealand; daughter of Gerald Anthony Pellew Bagnall Addington and Ethel Mary (Tonge) Addington) on November 3, 1909 in Honiton, Devon, England.[4] Their children were:
James died on September 15, 1917 in Wancourt, Pas-de-Calais, France, aged 45. He was buried in Hibers Trench British Cemetery, Wancourt, Departement du Pas-de-Calais, Nord-Pas-de-Calais.[5]
