Albert Howard was born in Middlesex, England.

Early Years

Albert Walter Howard was born on 25 January 1902, his birth registered between Jan-Mar 1902 at Edmonton, Middlesex, England.^[1] Albert was baptised on 20 April 1905 at Christ Church, Watney Street, Tower Hamlets, England. He was the son of Arthur Thomas Howard and Amelia Jane Batty who were living at 10 Harding Street. His father's occupation was Carman.^[2]

Albert was the third of five children born to Arthur and Amelia:

Marriage

Albert married Florence Louisa Collins on 26 December 1928 at Saint David, Barnsbury: Westbourne Road, Islington, England. Albert was age 26, bachelor, greengrocer, father Arthur Thomas Howard, greengrocer. Florence was age 24, spinster, father Charles Thomas Collins, Butchery. Both were living at 17 Warner Street at the time of their marriage.^[4]

In the 1939 Register, Albert W (born 23 Jan 1902), Furniture Dealer, was living at 3 Wadesmill, Ware, Hertfordshire, England, with his wife Florence L (born 9 May 1904). The entry for a third resident at the address is redacted, officially closed.^[5]

Death

Albert died on 28 February 1960, aged 58, at St Pancras Hospital, his death registered between Jan-Mar 1960 at Pancras, London.^[6] Probate recorded:

Research Notes

Albert's Baptism record shows his DoB as 25 Jan 1902. His 1939 Register record shows the DoB as 23 Jan 1902. GRO records show that there was only one Albert Walter Howard birth registration between 1901 and 1903. The date recorded at the baptism has been adopted as the preferred DoB since this was recorded closer to the date itself.
