Obituary
DEATH OF MRS FANNY CHIPPINDALL
Gladstone lost one of its oldest and most respected residents on Saturday last when Mrs Fanny Sample Chippindall, aged 94 years 6 months, passed away after ailing for over two years. Born in Shropshire, England, she came to Australia on the death of her father and was accompanied on the voyage by her sister. She resided in Gympie for many years with her husband (who predeceased her 21 years ago) and family, and had lived in Gladstone with her daughters, Agnes and Florrie, for the past 36 years. One son, Cyril, who saw service with the A.I.F. in the last war, passed away recently at Sandgate and there are four remaining children, Mrs James Bracewell (Gympie), Misses Florrie and Agnes (Gladstone) and Mr F. D. Chippindall (Forestry Department, Maryborough). Deceased took a keen interest in the town and district and was a prominent worker for the Church of England. The funeral was largely attended. Miss A. Chippindall (Toowoomba), Mrs Coulson (Sandgate), Messrs Herbert and Frank Chippindall (Gympie) and Percy Chippindall (Cooktown) were step-children.[8]
