Biography
The daughter of William Bishop Hubbell (1810-1896) and Martha Gardiner (1839-1926), Nancy Hubbell was born in Campbellsville, Tennessee[citation needed] in 1870, residing there with her family.[1][2] Her siblings included;
- Anna Elizabeth Hubbell (1864-1963)
- Alice Hubbell (1868-1868)
- Luther W. Hubbell (1872-1926)
- Zora Hubbell (1876-1878)
Nancy married Robert Howard Sands, marrying in Giles County, Tennessee on November 11, 1886[3] and having seven known children together:
- Zora (Sands) Hickman (1887-1968)
- Drucilla (Sands) Rakiston (1889-1972)
- Martha B. (Sands) Thurman (1894-1979)
- Charles Gardner Sands (1896-1957)
- Felix Wilson Sands (1898-1967)
- Raymond Earl Sands (1901-1924)
- Ruthen Howard Sands (1906-1969)
They made their home together in Civil District 15 of Giles County, Tennessee, where her husband farmed on his own account.[4] Nancy Sands passed away in Giles County one week after having given birth to her seventh child, at the age of 35, and is buried at Lynnwood Cemetery in Lynnville, Tennessee.[5]
