Biography
Theresa Hudgins (aka Hutchins) was born about 1779 in Pickens County, South Carolina Province. Theresa was the daughter of John Phillip Hutchins 1752–1791, and his wife, Rutha (Davis) Hutchins 1758-1847. They were married on 15 February 1779 in Chatham County, North Carolina, USA. [1]
She married Levi Murphree Jr., b: 1776 in North Carolina, in about 1804 in Pickens, South Carolina, USA. The family lived in Pickens County, South Carolina, and had the following 8 children: [2]

Levi Eli Murphree Jr. died on his farm in Pickens County, South Carolina, USA, in 1836. His wife, Theresa (Hudgins) Murphree, survived his passing for another 25 years. She passed away in Pickens Co., S. C., Confederate States of America, in August 1861, shortly after the start of the US Civil War.
