Elizabeth Hunt (married name Chant) was born in 1817 in North Cadbury, Somersetshire, England, the daughter of Mary Crew and John Hunt.^[1]

She emigrated to Australia in 1849.^[2]

She married Alfred Chant on 16 November 1852 at the Wesleyan Church in Geelong, Victoria, Australia.^[3] Their son was:

• George Barrett Chant (1855–1926)^[4]

Elizabeth died on 21 December 1861 in Newtown, Victoria.^[5][6]
