James I. Hunter was born in Walkill, Orange Co., New York in 1783. James was the son of James Hunter Jr. (1740 -- 1784) and Lilly Hunter (1753-1828).
He passed away in 1863, and was buried at White Cemetery, Saranac, Ionia County, Michigan.[1] [2]
His mother was Lilly Hunter, first cousin of James Hunter Jr. 1753-1828. She married James Graham as her second husband.
