From Find A Grave: John Nally is the head of the colonial Maryland family of Nalley or Nally, arriving from (most likely) Ireland about 1680. His descendants moved into the South and Midwest but many remained in Maryland. He married Jane Husculaw by Sep, 1693 near Newport, Charles County, MD in what was then St. Mary’s County. John Nalley and Jane Husculaw had 5 children: Dennis 1693-1742, Joseph 1695-~1770, John 1697-~1764, Elizabeth Sarah (unsure) 1700-after 1754, William 1707-1756. As opposed to what most researchers believe, in 1718 John (not his son, John Jr.) married Mary Lemaster (born about 1670), the widow of Thomas Hargis (1668-1716). She lived until at least 1741 or 1743 but it is not known when she died or where she was buried. John Nalley's tomb is non-extant and if the burial was not in the cemetery listed, it was at an older cemetery in the Newport area of Charles County. Jane was born about 1665.

Jane Husculah married John Nally.[1]

She passed away before 1732.[2]

Notes

6 Feb 1732 is the date her husband's Will was written. It does not mention her, only the children. But given the wording of her brother's Will which says, "...I give to Nalle & his children by my sister Jane..", it sounds like she may have already been deceased by the time it was written in 1693. He doesn't leave anything to her. The land is meant to ultimately go to his nephews. Unless there are other records that mention her by name, it would seem she was long gone by the time her husband passed. His bio on Find A Grave even states that he remarried in 1718, possibly open to debate.

It is obvious from the wording of William Hosculah's Will that she had already been married long enough to have had more than one child by 1693. So unless there are some records that give us something more definite to work with, the children's dob's need moved back several years.

Obviously more documentation is needed here. Suggest considering different dates. Jane b. ca. 1660, md. ca. 1678-80, ch. Dennis b. ca. 1680, Joseph b. ca 1682, John b. ca. 1684, William b. ca. 1686. Jane d. ca. 1686-1693.
