(7) They had four children during their marriage. (Dryden, 1992) He died on September 27, 1927, in Salem, Ohio, at the age of 69, and was buried in his hometown. (10,11)
The birth of a child was a joyous occasion in Lisbon, and it was customary for the community to come together to celebrate the new arrival. And that is still how Charles parents felt about their last child. The economy of the United States was still trying to restore itself from the Civil War. There were many economic depression periods after the Civil up to the turn of the century. However, thanks to their father for educating them in how to tailor clothing, Charles, along with his brothers ran the Huston Brothers Merchant Tailors in Lisbon, Ohio. They were able to support their families and save funds for their retirements. (Dryden, 1992)
