Caroline Hutchings was born about 1862 at Lambing Flat, New South Wales, Australia. She was the daughter of John and Mary Anne Hutchings who were originally from Tavistock, Devon, England. John had struck sufficient gold to establish himself as a hotel keeper in Sydney and moved to 104 Bridge Road, Glebe where Caroline and her siblings were raised[1].
Caroline married William Miller (son of William and Annie Miller who lived at 96 Bridge Road[1]) in 1888 at Glebe[2]. They had 2 children: John H Miller (b. 1889), Caroline Janet Miller (b. 1894).
Caroline's parents moved to Croydon and William and Caroline Miller moved in to 104 Bridge Road where they raised their children[1].
Caroline's husband William died in 1929.
Caroline died in 1945 aged 82 at Glebe[3] and was buried at Rookwood Cemetery with her husband[4].
