Hilda Hutkin was born 5 Jan 1917, the daughter of Michael & Anna Chosid Hutkin, in Memphis, TN, where her father worked as a tailor.[1][2] She graduated from Central High School in Memphis in 1934, prior to marrying Sydney Fleishman on 30 May 1937 in Peekskill, NY, whose family's furniture shop in Poughkeepsie, NY, she worked at as a buyer & decorator, specializing in fine China painting & needlepoint, for nearly 30 years, & with who she had two children.[3][4] They resided in Poughkeepsie until 1996, when they relocated to Tucson, AZ, & then relocated again to Eugene, OR in 2001.[1]
She was a member of the congregation of the Temple Beth-El in Poughkeepsie, founded in part by her father-in-law, as well as of Hadassah, & she was elected to the Board of Directors of the Children's Home of Poughkeepsie, a position she held from 1970-1979, before becoming an associate member.[1]
Hilda Fleishman died in Eugene, OR on 17 Sep 2003.[5][1]
