George Hutton, born in England, age 36 (next birthday), lived in Blanchard, Perth County, Canada West, which later became Ontario. He was married to Temperance, age 35, also born in England. George was a storekeeper. George said the family's religion was Independent.
Household members were:
George Hutton, Storekeeper, Age 36, Birthplace: England,
Temperence Hutton, Wife, Age 35, Birthplace: England
Emiline Hutton, Daughter, Age 13, Birthplace: England (Born in 1838, before George and Temperance were married? See "mystery parentage")
Cathrine Hutton, Spinster, Age 11, Birthplace: England (Born in 1840, before George and Temperance were married?)
Sidney Hutton, Clark, Age 9, Birthplace: England
Alfred Hutton, Clark, Age 3, Birthplace: Canada

Willoughby Hutton, age 24, George's brother, a "clark" [clerk] was likely an employee in George's store. He may have lived next door in his own house, or he may have lived with George and Temperance. He said his religion was Episcopal.[1]
In this Census, sons are usually identified with the occupation of the father, not referred to as "sons," daughters were called "spinsters."[2]
Catherine's parentage is uncertain. She would have been born before George and Temperance married in 1841. She could also have been the daughter of George Hutton and Ann Veal.
