Pvt. Samuel Ingersoll enlisted with the Union Army on 13 August 1861, and was mustered into Company D, 3rd Pennsylvania Cavalry. He was captured on 7 January 1864 at Warrenton, Virginia[1]
Pvt. Ingersoll died of Diarrhea at the Andersonville Prison on 1 May 1864 and is buried in the Andersonville National Cemetery, Grave K-831.[2][3]
A pension was filed in his name on 17 July 1865.[4]
