Biography

Malcolm was born in 1938. He Died 2020.

The late Sir Malcolm was b.25th May 1938.

His mother Lady Lucy Buchan was b.27th Feb.1902, a comital Sinclair as the 3rd dau. of the then Norman Macleod Sinclair,later 18th Earl of Caithness(from 30th May 1914,b.4th April 1962-d.25th March 1947),who assumed and was recog. by the Lyon Court in the name,arms and (16th) chiefship of Buchan of Auchmacoy from 1911/3,after he succ. to the Auchmacoy estate on the death of his cousin Louisa Buchan,15th of Auchmacoy(d.1910),only dau. and eventual successor of 18th Earl Norman's maternal great-uncle James Buchan,14th of Auchmacoy(b.1800-d.1874).

It,also,should be pointed out that the 1914-47 dichotomy of the 18th Earl Norman being simultaneously holder of 2 separate chiefships,would not be allowed today,as the Lyon Court has generally clarified such a situation with its 1950 compund name(double-barrelled) decision over the Lordship of Gray.

Incidentally,the Buchan of Auchmacoy chiefship and estates,after Norman's death,is presently held by Lucy's eldest sister Lady Olivia,Mrs. Lloyd Trevor's descendants.
