Biography

Peter was born on 26 March 1798 in Tibble, Köpings landsförsamling.[1] HIs parents were the farmer Isaac Larsson Gillberg and wife Anna Johansdotter. They lived in the country side around Köping, and in 1822 came to the city. This is also when the name "Gillberg" is used for the first time.[2]

Peter worked as ferryman "båtkarl" in Köping, either freighting passengers across the river dividing the city or in the harbour.

Peter dies on 19 August 1827 in Köpings stadsförsamling, Västmanland from dropsy.[3]
