Thomas was born in December 1899 and Christened at St. Stephen's at Hulme on 20 Dec 1899.^[1]. Thomas was the child of Thomas Jackson and Louisa Ingham.

In the 1911 Census for England he, listed as Thomas Jackson, aged 11, is listed in the household of his father Thomas Arthur Jackson. The address is not provided although they appear in the Parish of South Manchester, Lancashire, [now Manchester] ^[2]With him on the census were; His Father Thomas Arthur Jackson, aged 45; His mother Louisa Ingham, aged, 41; their daughter Louisa, aged 21; Elizabeth, daughter, aged 17; Elsie, daughter, aged 19; and Florrie, daughter, aged 5.
