Biography

Amelia Jackson, 1894-1977, married Samuel V. Stewart. [1]

Amelia Jackson, the daughter of Samuel Jackson and Mary Hamilton, and Samuel V. Stewart, the son of W.K. Stewart and Ada Rankin, were married on 3 May 1924 in Decatur, Indiana. J.K. Bliss officiated. Amelia was born 12 Feb. 1894 in Decatur. Samuel Stewart was born 19 Feb. 1887. [2] [3] [4]

In 1930, the Stewarts lived in Westfield, Union, New Jersey. Their rent was $65 per month. Samuel Stewart, 43, born in Indiana (father b. Ohio; mother b. IN), a WWI veteran, who married at age 36, worked in the electrical industry. His wife, Amelia, 36, married at 30, was also born in Indiana (father b. OH; mother b. IL). [5]

In 1940, they lived in Westfield, New Jersey. They had moved within the last five years. They owned their house, valued at $12,500. Sam Stewart, 53, had completed one year of college, and worked as a clerical supervisor for a manufacturer of telephone equipment. He had worked 52 weeks in 1939, and earned $3000. His wife, Amelia, 46, had completed four years of high school. [6]

Amelia (Jackson) Stewart was born in 1894. She passed away in 1977. Amelia is buried with her husband, Samuel Stewart, and his parents, grandparents, a sister, and other family at Kingston Cemetery, Kingston, Indiana. [7]
