Seaman J. Jackson served as a Seaman US Navy on Gunboat USS Shawsheen. He was captured on the James River, Virginia on 7 May 1864. Seaman Jackson was taken to the Andersonville Prison where he died of Scorbutus on 22 August 1864. He was buried in Plot E, 6417, Andersonville National Cemetery.[1]
