Pvt. Truman Asa Jackson alias Freeman A. Jackson, was the son of Asa Jackson (1806-1848) and Clalista Thompson (1808-1841). He was born 19 October 1835, Swanzey, Cheshire, New Hampshire.^[1]

In 1859 he married Susan S. Newcomb (1837-1861)^[2]

1860 they lived in Keene, Cheshire, New Hampshire, Truman A Jackson age 24, born in New Hampshire, Susan S. Jackson age 23 born in New Hampshire. ^[3][4]

In 1862, Truman married his second wife, Frances Maria White (1842-1900).^[5]

Truman enlisted in the Union Army on 18 August 1863, Syracuse, New York, he mustered into Company E, 122nd New York Infantry on 18 August 1863.^[6][7]

Pvt. Jackson was captured in Wilderness, Virginia on 6 May 1864. He was imprisoned in Andersonville Prison, where he died of Scorbutus on 24 October 1864. He is buried in the Andersonville National Cemetery in Plot H, 11891 (Note the 8 broke off and it looks like a 3, so the records has him buried in 11391).^[8]

His pension was taken out by spouse Frances Maria White. ^[9][10]
