John Willington Jackson was born in about 1831. He was the only son of William Jackson and Charlotte Willington. His mother may have died soon after his birth.
In about 1852 or 1853, John emigrated from Ireland to Australia. His father William’s Last Will and Testament was dated 2 February 1866, and included the following extract:
“The interest accruing yearly upon said principal sum to be paid to my kind and affectionate sister-in-law Eliza Willington…… and at her demise to my son John Willington Jackson all principal sum or sums now suppose to be residing in Melbourne, from where his last letters home bore date.”
His father died on 9 January 1867 at about age 69.
He and Mary Ellen Mcintyre had at least four children:
John married Mary Ellen Mcintyre in 1870 in Sydney, New South Wales. She died in about 1878.
In the 1903 Australia Electoral Rolls (1903-1980), John Jackson was recorded living with his eldest daughter Elizabeth Marlow and her husband Charles Henry Marlow (a tailor) at 284 Beaufort Street, Perth, Western Australia. His occupation was recorded as Engineer.
John Willington Jackson was residing at Highgate Hill in Perth, Western Australia when he passed away on 25 October 1908 and was buried at Karrakatta Cemetery and Crematorium, Karrakatta, Nedlands City, Western Australia, Australia[1][2]. PLOT: Anglican-Fc-0085
