William was born about 1842. William Jacobs ... He passed away about 1907.[1] A Civil War veteran, he enlisted in Perry County August 5, 1862, mustered into federal service at Harrisburg August 11 as a private with Co. G, 133rd Pennsylvania Infantry, and honorably discharged with his company May 26, 1863. He then served at the rank of corporal with Co. G, 36th Pennsylvania Militia, during the Gettysburg crisis July 4 - August 11, 1863. He last enlisted in Harrisburg March 2, 1865, and mustered into federal service there March 9 as a private with the second organization of Co. F, 104th Pennsylvania Infantry. Promoted to corporal, date unknown, he honorably discharged with his company August 25, 1865.
