An indenture bearing date the twenty first day of July one thousand eight hundred and twenty one, and made between me, the said John Haughton James and my daughter, Caroline Haughton James, …. Phillip Clarke, Esquire, and Francis Gore of Grosvenor Square in the County of Middlesex, Esquire, William Murray of Bryanstone Square in the said county, Esquire and Richard Eaton of Hathworth in the County of Cambridge, Esquire of that part being the settlement made previous to the marriage of the said Philip Clarke with my said daughter Caroline Haughton James
All that plantation or Estate called Burnt Ground situate in the parish of Hanover in the Island of Jamaica, together with the messuages, slaves, cattle, stock and other appurtenances thereto belonging
My eldest son, Philip Haughton James and my daughters, Dame Catherine Haughton Clarke, the wife of Sir Simon Haughton Clarke, Bart, and the said Caroline Haughton James
