Biography

James Jameson is a member of Clan Gunn.

He was married, but the name of his wife is unknown.

Jameson is a common Scots name. It nominally means son of James, but many families simply took this name in honor of King James. There is no correct spelling -- it is seen as Jameson, Jamison and Jamieson within the same families.

He was Presbyterian. James moved Glasgow, Lanark, Scotland and migrated to Galway, Ireland, probably about 1670. He came to America in 1700 with two sons. They probably landed first in New York, before moving to near York Pennsylvania.

James probably had several children, but we only know of two:

So it seems that Jameson-561 and Jameson-346 are set as father and son, but have the same birth and death dates, and were connected to the same wife. Jameson-561's father was born in 1625, and Jameson-346's sons were born 1670. That's not enough time to fit in 4 generations. Jameson-561's other children fit the timeline better, and are born around the same time as Jameson-346's. This leads me to suspect that they are the same person, but somehow the generations got skewed, so they ended up linked as father-son. Even if there is not enough to say that they are the same person, I think that the Jameson-561 & Jameson-346 father-son connection is incorrect. Thoughts?
