Biography

Jack Jarman was born in Shropshire, England.

John was born 1 Jun 1897^[1] and baptized 18 Jun 1897 at Holy Trinity, Oswestry, Shropshire, England. He was the son of John Jarman and Mary Brown. ^{[2] [3]}

In 1911 he lived with parents and siblings at 28 Beatrice St, Oswestry. ^[4]

In 1917 he enlisted for the army as Jack Thomas Jarman. He was 5' 0.5", scar on left side chin, underweight & requiring dental treatment. ^[5]

In 1924 in Lancashire he married Margaret McNabb. ^{[6] [7]}

In 1939 he was a pork butcher living in Ormskirk with wife Margaret (b. 4 Jul 1901) and son Derek (b. 13 Oct 1930). ^[1]

He passed away in 1972, registered at Ormskirk, Lancashire Q2. ^[8]

Research Notes

I've used the "Uncertain Spouse" tag as we have no reference document that the spouse is the right Margaret McNabb (ancestry.com public member trees not counting as reliable references). The DOB on the 1939 register is close though (4 Jul 1901, vs date on the birth record of 8 Jul 1901).

There is another John Thomas Jarman same age with father John Jarman born Montgomeryshire, lived in Merthy Tydful, Glamorgan as of 1911.
