Mattie Della Jarvis was born on March 16, 1877 in White, Tennessee, United States, daughter of Sylvester Jarvis (1839–1912) and Maranda Simrell (1839–1910).

Mattie (18) married William McNeal Hayes (17) (born on November 2, 1878 in DeKalb, Tennessee) on November 2, 1895 in White. [1]

Mattie (29) married Ephraim Martin (49) (born on June 11, 1856 in Tennessee) on April 22, 1906 in White.

In the 1880 census Dolla (age 4) was the daughter of Silvester Jarvis in District 6, Grainger, Tennessee, United States.[2] Silvester Jarvis 41, wife Maranda Jarvis 41, son William Jarvis 20, son Dan A. Jarvis 18, son Johnnie Jarvis 16, son Harry Jarvis 14, son Robbert Jarvis 12, son Joseph Jarvis 10, daughter Lu Ella Jarvis 8, daughter Dolla Jarvis 4.

In the 1900 census Mattie (age 22) was the wife of William M Hayes in DeKalb, Tennessee, United States.[3] William M Hayes 22, wife Mattie S Hayes 22, son Frank S Hayes 2, son Jesse O Hayes 1, servant Rufus Williams 22.

In the 1910 census Della (age 32) was the wife of Ephram Martin in Civil District 1, White, Tennessee, United States.[4] Ephram Martin 53, wife Della Martin 32, stepson Frank Hayes 12, stepson Jessie Hayes 10.

In the 1930 census Della (age 52) was the widowed head of household in Sparta, White, Tennessee, United States.[5] Della Martin 52, son Frank D Hayes 32, daughter-in-law Birtha M Hayes 29, grandchild Jannie R Hayes 8, grandchild Jack Hayes 6, grandchild Hugh J Hayes 3, grandchild Harriett A Hayes 1.

In the 1940 census Della (age 62) was the widowed head of household in Civil District 1, White, Tennessee, United States.[6] Della Martin 62, son F D Hayes 42, wife Bertha Hayes 39, daughter Johnnie Hayes 18, son Jack Hayes 16, son Hugh James Hayes 13, son Harry Dan Hayes 11, granddaughter Martha Hayes 5.

Mattie died on March 31, 1968 in Sparta, White, aged 91. She was buried in Highland Cemetery, Sparta, Tennessee.Mattie, daughter of Sylvester Jarvis & Miranda Simmerell, died (age 91) on 30 March 1968 in Pleasant Hill, Cumberland, Tennessee, United States.[7][8]
