Mary was born about 1799. She is the daughter of Samuel Jenkins, and sister of John Jenkins and James Jenkins.[1]
The family was living in Edgefield County, South Carolina.

On the 18th day of December 1820, John Hall and Polly, his wife, of the District of Edgefield, South Carolina sold to John Jenkins, of Edgefield, all the plantation or tract of land containing 35 acres our one seventh it being our distributive share of the real estate of Samuel Jenkins Dec'd, also our distributive share of our brother's real Est James Jenkins Dec'd all of which will more fully and at large appear by a resurvey of said lands made by John Blocker, Esq.[3]
John passed away before 1830, and Mary married James H. Walker after his death. According to the court record, the land of John Hall's father, John Hall, was finally sold to James H. Walker, as the last and highest bidder, on the first Monday of January 1831 after James H. Walker and his wife, Mary, formerly Mary Hall, and the children of the said Mary by her first husband John Hall, made application for the sale of the land.[4] The actual deed recorded the land was sold to William G. Walker on the 3rd day of January 1831, and William G. Walker gave a bond for the Mortgage of the property on the 3rd of Jan 1832.[5]
She passed away after 1840.[citation needed]
