Biography
Charlotta was born in Skärkind parish 29 May 1845 to farmer Johannes Persson in Qvästad and his wife Sara Andersdotter.[1][2]
Charlotta Johansdotter worked as a maid in Norrköping.[3] In October 1869 she had a daughter out of wedlock. The baby only lived for a week. Charlotta moved to Stockholm in 1870.[4] There Charlotta was one of the maids in the household of restaurant keeper Halling.[5]
In 1872 the charwoman Charlotta Johansson lived together with book keeper Carl Axel Strindberg.[6] Strindberg and Charlotta married 1 May 1875.[7] In 1877 Carl Axel Strindberg lived with his wife Charlotta and daughter Ragnhild Bernhardina (1876) in Stockholm Old Town.[8]
Charlotta Strindberg, born Johansdotter, died 26 June 1903, leaving the widower and a granddaughter, Ragnhild Ebba Ingeborg, daughter of deceased Ragnhild Bernhardina Strindberg, married Thott.[9]
