Biography

Ann was baptised in 1812 in the parish of St Martin, Lincoln, Lincolnshire, England. She was the "natural daughter" of Jane Johnson.^[1]

In 1833 she married Edward Fowler in Nettleham, Lincolnshire.^[2] Their children were:

• Henry, 1833 (born in Fiskerton)^[3]

• Eliza, 1839 (Bardney)^[5]
• Alice, 1842 (Apley)^[6]
• William, 1849 (Apley)^[7]
• Emily, 1852 (Apley)^[8]

The family lived in Apley, Lincolnshire, by 1841. Edward was an agricultural labourer.^[9][10][11] He died in Lincoln, Lincolnshire, at the age of 59 in 1867.^[12][13]

In 1871 Ann lived with her son, Edward, on Holland's Row in Lincoln. She worked as a laundress.^[14] In 1881^[15] and 1891 she lived with her married daughter, Emma Frake, in Bracebridge, Lincolnshire.^[16]

Ann died in 1898 in Bracebridge at the age of 85.^[17] She was buried in Canwick Road cemetery, Lincoln.^[18]
